MODULE 2
WHAT is the Alabama DLCS Course of Study?
GOAL of the Digital Literacy/Computer Science
Course of Study
to provide digital and computational literacy opportunities
for all Alabama students
"The goal of the DLCS course of study is to enable students to use cognitive and technical skills responsibly in finding, evaluating, creating, and communicating information. Standards will also introduce students to the study of computers and algorithmic processes, including computer science principles, hardware, and software design, applications, networks, and societal impacts so that students will be fully equipped with the important, increasingly valuable knowledge and skills needed in college and careers." ~ Alabama Course of Study: Digital Literacy and Computer Science
The standards were released as a single integration. So, the progression is delivered with different levels of instructional focus in each area within the grade levels.
